From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.
Fans can expect discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
